About the role

Our client is a technology company building scalable solutions that power gaming services, applications. They are looking for a Backend Developer to join their team and contribute to the development and maintenance of reliable backend applications and APIs.

The ideal candidate has strong Python fundamentals, experience working with backend frameworks such as Django, Flask, or FastAPI, and a good understanding of databases, APIs, and backend architecture.

You should be comfortable working on existing systems, solving technical problems, debugging issues, and collaborating with other members of the engineering team to deliver reliable and maintainable software.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, implement, and maintain backend applications and APIs.
Write clean, efficient, and maintainable Python code.
Develop and integrate APIs and backend services.
Work with databases to store, retrieve, and manage application data.
Identify and resolve bugs, performance issues, and other technical problems.
Maintain and improve existing backend functionality, including systems that support 24/7 operations.
Collaborate with product owners and QA teams during development and testing.
Participate in code reviews and follow established development practices.
Provide work effort estimates and deliver tasks within agreed timelines.
Work with other engineers to integrate backend services and APIs.
Work with the team's existing deployment and development processes as required.

Requirements

Requirements: 2–4 years of experience in backend software development. Strong proficiency in Python and a good understanding of core Python concepts. Experience building backend applications or APIs using Django, Flask, FastAPI, or similar Python frameworks. Good understanding of REST APIs and backend application architecture. Experience working with relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL. Understanding of database relationships, queries, and basic query optimization. Familiarity with Git and collaborative development workflows. Good understanding of common backend concepts such as authentication, error handling, asynchronous processing, and API integration. Ability to break down technical problems and troubleshoot issues logically. Ability to write clean, readable, and maintainable code. Good communication and collaboration skills. Nice to have: Experience working with microservices or service-oriented architectures. Familiarity with Docker and CI/CD pipelines. Understanding of functional programming concepts, such as immutability and pure functions. Experience with Clojure, Erlang, or Elixir is a plus.
