About the role

We are looking for a skilled contract Shopify Developer to optimize and improve an existing Shopify e-commerce store for a luxury fragrance brand.

The role involves hands-on Shopify development, theme customization, app integrations, e-commerce functionality, SEO implementation, and website performance optimization.

Responsibilities

Customize and develop Shopify themes using Liquid, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
Fix existing theme issues, including broken links, placeholder content, demo data, and navigation issues.
Build and improve product pages, collection pages, navigation, footer, cart, and other storefront components.
Redesign pages
Set up product tags, collections, filters, and catalogue structure.
Integrate and configure Shopify apps for reviews, product sampling, installment payments, back-in-stock notifications, and other e-commerce features.
Implement inventory-based stock messaging and product merchandising features.
Optimize Shopify SEO, including meta titles, descriptions, Open Graph tags, and structured data/schema.
Implement relevant Product, Organization, LocalBusiness, and BreadcrumbList schema.
Fix internal search and navigation functionality.
Optimize images, page speed, and Core Web Vitals.
Ensure Google Analytics 4, Google Search Console, and relevant tracking are properly implemented.
Test all changes across desktop and mobile before deployment.
Troubleshoot Shopify theme and storefront issues and maintain clean, scalable code.
Work with the team to implement website improvements based on the provided optimization roadmap.

Requirements

2+ years of hands-on Shopify development experience. Strong knowledge of Shopify Liquid. Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and responsive web development. Experience customizing Shopify themes and working with Shopify's storefront architecture. Experience integrating and configuring Shopify apps. Strong understanding of Shopify products, variants, collections, tags, and metafields. Knowledge of e-commerce SEO and structured data. Experience with website performance optimization and Core Web Vitals. Ability to troubleshoot existing Shopify stores and independently implement fixes. Strong attention to detail and ability to work from a technical brief. Nice to Have Shopify Plus experience. Experience with Shopify APIs and custom integrations. Experience working on luxury, fashion, beauty, fragrance, or other premium e-commerce websites. Knowledge of conversion rate optimization (CRO).
