Job Description – Internal Auditor (Manufacturing)

Job Summary

The Internal Auditor provides independent and objective assurance to improve the organization's operations by evaluating the effectiveness of internal controls, risk management, and governance processes. The role is responsible for developing and implementing risk-based audit plans, ensuring compliance with company policies and statutory requirements, identifying operational and financial risks, and recommending practical improvements to strengthen controls and enhance business performance within a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

* Develop and execute risk-based audit plans.

* Evaluate internal controls across procurement, production, inventory, sales, payroll, and finance.

* Conduct routine, surprise, and special audits.

* Verify inventory, production records, raw material usage, and operational data.

* Ensure compliance with company policies, statutory regulations, and quality standards (ISO 9001).

* Investigate fraud and control breaches; recommend Corrective actions.

* Prepare audit reports and monitor implementation of recommendations.

* Identify process improvement opportunities to enhance efficiency and reduce risk.

Qualifications and Experience

* HND/Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

* Professional certification (CIA, ACA, or ACCA) required.

* Minimum of 5 years internal audit experience, preferably in a manufacturing or FMCG environment.

* Strong knowledge of internal auditing, risk management, and manufacturing operations.

* Analytical, problem-solving, and report-writing skills.

* Proficiency in MS Excel, ERP systems, and audit software.

* High integrity, attention to detail, and effective communication skills.
