About the role

Our client is a fast-growing company in the gaming industry, building engaging digital experiences for users across multiple markets. They are seeking a skilled PHP Developer who can contribute across both backend and frontend development, working on scalable web applications, APIs, and interactive user-facing features.

This role is ideal for a developer who is comfortable working with Laravel, PHP, MySQL, JavaScript, and jQuery, and who enjoys solving complex technical problems in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Develop, maintain, and enhance web applications using PHP and Laravel.
Build and maintain RESTful APIs and backend services.
Develop interactive frontend functionality using JavaScript and jQuery.
Implement AJAX-driven features and dynamic user experiences.
Design, optimize, and maintain MySQL/MariaDB databases.
Troubleshoot and resolve application issues across both frontend and backend systems.
Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
Participate in code reviews and follow established development standards and best practices.
Collaborate with product, QA, and other developers to deliver high-quality features.
Optimize application performance, scalability, and security.
Support deployment activities and production issue resolution when required.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for a developer who can comfortably work across both backend and frontend development. While Laravel and PHP expertise are essential, the successful candidate should also be capable of building and maintaining JavaScript/jQuery-powered functionality, debugging issues across the full application stack, and contributing to the overall performance and reliability of the platform.

The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and able to take ownership of features from development through deployment.

Requirements

Core Requirements *3–5 years of professional PHP development experience. *Strong experience with Laravel framework. *Strong understanding of core PHP concepts and best practices. *Strong JavaScript and jQuery skills, including building interactive and AJAX-driven features. *Experience working with HTML5, CSS3, and Bootstrap. *Experience designing and consuming REST APIs. *Strong experience with MySQL or MariaDB database design and optimization. *Experience working with authentication, authorization, middleware, validation, and session management. *Strong debugging and problem-solving skills. *Experience using Git for version control, including branching, merging, and conflict resolution. *Ability to work independently and manage tasks effectively in a remote environment. Technical Knowledge Candidates should have practical experience with: *Laravel Eloquent ORM *Database relationships and query optimization *API integrations *AJAX requests and asynchronous data handling *Form validation and security best practices *Performance optimization *Error handling and logging *Session and authentication systems *Git workflows and deployment processes Nice to Have *Experience with CodeIgniter or Symfony. *Experience with WordPress or Magento. *Experience with Docker and CI/CD pipelines. *Experience with React or other modern JavaScript frameworks. *Experience working on gaming, entertainment, or high-traffic applications. *Experience building reusable frameworks, libraries, or application architectures.
